There are probably over 5 million independent recording artists in the world today. Of that 5 million, over 4 million of them are probably not on the right path to success. The major music industry is locking down all major ways of promotion. The new intergrations with facebook and twitter are killing the independent buzz.
Still the independent music industry has a chance. If we can all find a way to come together, we can achieve a whole lot. All it takes is for one independent rapper to support another to get a movement going, and make things easier for us to succeed. We should be sharing the music of our fellow independent rivals in order to improve independence.
Why do we constantly support the major industry by liking, sharing, and commenting on their music. Kanye West has probably never commented on an independent music video once in his career. Yet, we continue to support his music and every other major recording artists career to the fullest.
The independent music industry has hope yet. Next time you see music from someone that you have never heard of... don't just browse away, share it with your friends. Help each independent recording artist that you see as you would if they were your favorite major artist. I for one am a professional music promoter who works with nothing but independent recording artist. I am always going to be in the market for independence.
My music promotion services are off limits to major record labels, and artists. I only work with independent rappers and singers. Some of you other music promoters, and producers should think the same. Reduce the prices on your beats and promotion services. Artists stop paying for fake views and work with a legit promoter. It costs a bit more but its worth it. Get your name out there as well as your music in a better way.
