Finesse - Independent Rap Artist from South Carolina

Talent is a word that we look at and judge by present day popular progressions. We give little room for actual ingenuity, and originality. We hear music and we automatically relate the sound resonating out of the speakers to that of past tracks predetermined to be a preferred melodic flavor. If we continue to do this we will miss the astute and insightful flow that the St. Helena Island, South Carolina Rapper Finesse Brings to the table. Finesse seems to be determined to keep his music agreeable, and poetic. At times he reminds me of Tupac Shakur in the topic choices he chooses to address in his music.


Finesse is a young entrepreneur, who invests heavily into creating quality music and it shows, as he sports production from some of the finest music producers around. Finesse continuously amazed me with his choice of words, as well as topics. Like in the song "Eye V. The Island" where he states "To think we isolated / our reputation degraded / the fakers that want to be gang bangers don't help / only cause to need more help". Finesse's mind frame brings me back to the good old revolutionary days where guys like Huey Newton, and Malcolm X walked the streets protesting for a better way of living, and a better standard of thinking.
