Independent Rap Artists Reviewed: Q (Well Rounded)

Listen to Q's music here <<-----

Ok here we go... listening to the mixtape as I type, and paying close attention to certain aspects that need to be addressed, and applauded. The mixtape started out on on a good note. Proved that he could rap about more than the average person raps about. As things progressed though... I would say he stumbled into more of the average rap styles. I found myself looking through for substance. Not that he doesn't have skills. I hear massive amounts of talent here.

He is the type of rapper apparently that appeals to the female crowd. To break things down further, let me say the production on this mixtape is fantastic. He made great choices in selecting his beats. His originality is there... he IS original, in the way he chooses to deliver. Sound quality could increase a little bit, and I think that is a matter of he needs to rap with more passion. As far as lyrics go he got alot of skills in that department. He simply has to learn how to make things a little more entertaining.

When it comes to musical composition, and the way things are laid out... I hear alot of room for improvement. More bridges, and more changes in style are needed through out the music. More topics are definitely needed for him to talk about. It really gets monotonous listening to songs about weed and women for 90% of the mixtape. Overall though I would say that he deserves a 3 out of 5 for this lap around, but I have no doubt that the next lap around he will earn the two thumbs up and 5 out of 5 rating I know he is capable of. Now for the final question... would I buy this? For the total love of independent music, and seeing independent rap artists make it, yes I would. As for just going out on my own and out of my way to get it I say no. There is just not enough substance for this to top the charts.

Here are all of his links so that you can let him know what you think of his music.

  1. Rap and hip hop beats are used by recording artists and rappers to create a complete song. When the word beat isused with rap and hip-hop it usually refers to that part of the song that is instrumental and does not have any vocal part.Rap and hip hop beats is a layer of instrumental musicwhich usually continues in a loop, for example like the drums continuously playing.
