New Jersey Rapper Nastyelgic Releases New Single 'Come Wit Me'

In anticipation to the release of his debut album "Back When Music Was," Nastyelgic premiers his new single "Come Wit Me," featuring Tyreke Meade. "Come Wit Me" premiered Friday, August 12, 2016 featuring a stellar performance from both artists over an explosive club record produced by Jaronamo Beats.

"Come Wit Me" shows the up and coming rapper Nastyelgic going back to his roots to work with producer Jaronamo Beats. The young producer, who also happens to be the biological brother of Nastyelgic also produced his debut release "Killin Hip Hop," undoubtedly his most successful release to date.

Nastyelgic's upcoming album "Back When Music Was" is set to debut this year. Early reviews of the album describe the feeling as that of the old school way fused with a new school sound, which happens to be the same sound that gave birth the rappers name. "I want people to feel nostalgia for the old school music" Nastyelgic says, "the music industry is all but yearning for a return of the sounds from 80's and 90's artists."

If rappers were warriors, their lyrics would be their most deadly skill. Lyrical content decides the fate of any rap artist who chooses to make a career of rap music. When you deliver those rhymes be they scripted or impromptu straight off the brain they must hit hard. AC Muzik has delivered to us a mixtape that falls short of lyrically immortality, but independently is ready for hard battle.

Originality was all there, minus the industry instrumentals, all concepts seemed to be very refreshing and unlike today's daunting hip hop scene. Speaking of the instrumentals I must say that the instrumental selection was a bit mediocre for this project. Vocal quality, and engineering was very much on point but boring instrumentals and untimely skits were a major issue for me.

In terms of content I was left scratching my head on this mixtape. Not saying I was told the mixtape was supposed to follow some sort of conceptual guideline, but the content and the title just didn't have any sort of connection for me. AC Muzik, forgive me if I am missing something here, but at this moment I am calling your choice of records the biggest blunder of this mixtape.

Still it all comes down to one question.... the ultimate question we ask ourselves after each one of these reviews. Had I been approached by AC Muzik and asked to purchase a copy of this mixtape, what would I have done? For the fact that I love to support all independent artists who put hard work into their music, and the fact that he really does know how to rap... I would buy it.
