Music Review: Knormul A+ - Hyber Knation

Check out Knormul A+'s "Hyber Knation" here:
Talk about jumping off a project with a message... the introductory record "T.C. (The Current)" sets standards very high for this mixtape.  This record oozes with wisdom and kicks supreme knowledge that may sometimes go over the average listener's head but is worth the repeat to get a full understanding. Knormul A+ delivers a stellar performance and follows up with an enlightening flashback from The Chapelle Show.

The following record "Sha-Bam (The Distraction)" would do all but meet up with the expectations and lived true to its title by being totally out of place on this album. Lyrically the record was great but the production was a major buzz kill and not at all a match to the theme of the project. The beat was not mixed very well and with exception to the drums featured some very low quality instruments. The half time break down of the track was a very creative move but I think most people would not make it to that point in this record.

In a major change up however, Knormul came right back out swinging with "Jim Wheeler (The Slave)" which was a heck of a record. Production and lyrics were both at peak levels on this one. This is not just a very well put together track but yet another record that delivers thought provoking info for you to ponder about. The following records "The Unobtrusive Table Food Interlude" and "Aspartame (The Poison)" bring more of the same thought provoking lyricism across the mental.

There are simply very little kinks in the armor as this mixtape finishes up in extraordinary fashion. More thought provoking lyrics, more deep rooted audio clips that are truly frightening to believe may possible be true. "Hyber Knation" is one of the dopest, most thought provoking and creative releases of 2014 and should be heard by music fans across all genres even though it is of the urban market. Knormul A+ is definitely worthy of being given many props for this project and I can't wait to hear more. (Go Listen Now)

Overall Rating: 8/10 – Lyrics: 9/10 – Production: 7.5/10 – Best: John Todd (The Incite) – Worst: Sha-Bam (The Distraction)
