A&R Turns Blind Eye To The Industry

A&R Turns Blind Eye To The Industry

Producer and A&R D'ron Forbes (Focus of Dirty Scope Productions) has recently released a statement stating that he is "not at all and more than likely never going to be interested in stepping away from making independent music". He then proceeded to say "if someone I got alot of love for decided they would take it there, then I would have no choice, but to be there".

When asked why he feels this way he stated simply that it was the dream to make music, and that making it in the industry is not the true meaning of "making it".  Focus then states that he has seen many artists make it on their own and make alot of money with out the industry, but he also says the industry itself is a key reason none of these artists really get a true chance to shine.

When we asked him about  his goals for dirtstopebeatz.com he responded "thats the point of what I am trying to say, I am here for independent artists, look at the prices and tell me who can't afford it. We know the major labels can, but 90% of the time they really want to get more free beats than the actual independent artists. Why would I give it to you, when I can give it to an independent artist. The amount of time you spend trying to get in the game as an artist, most could have made a couple hundred stacks. As a producer trying to get in, you spend alot of time waiting on checks, call backs, and replies. Does that sound worth it?"

I had a nice conversation with Focus and got the point that he was not at all going to budge on this matter. He started his own artist development division to Dirty Scope Production, to help guide young artists in need of guidance. Not to mention that he is still dropping hot tracks as well. When you get a chance to take a peek, take it.

Thanks for  stopping through
